I've been working to get a more consistant broadband connection to be able to respond to posts in a more timely fashion. Out transition from the Chill Rainforests of the NW to Versilia on the Italian Riviera is a big move and most of our belongings are still on the boat.

The RIM Dream-Farm is a start-up farm cooperative on 40 acres in SE Thurston County. Perched on a plateau above the Tobotten Creek lowland connecting the Nisqually and Deschutes rivers, this site has a partially hydric soil which can hold moisture in dry periods without being too saturated in wet periods. For this reason, the native flora is very diverse including Garry oak, beaked hazelnut, Oregon ash, pacific willow, black cottonwood, snowberry, big leaf maple, vine maple, salal, Oregon grape, Indian plum, ocean spray, bitter cherry, red alder, red huckleberry and more species from both upland and wetland habitats. Using permaculture techniques and methods this site can be developed for agroforestry production with very little need for active irrigation.
In fact, using the strategies Sepp Holzer was teaching at the recent workshops in Yelm, we can create a small lake with fingers on the top of this plateau which will offer a diversified abundant landscape with many opportunities for aquaculture and clustered housing.

Creating an ecologically sustainable culture takes far more than a design-build process and yet, as Anastasia points out in the Ringing Cedars books, individuals co-creating their own space of love on their own Kin's Domain is the beginning and the core to transforming our society.

I'm glad to help you, Manuel and Irma with your exciting project. Too bad Sepp Holzer didn't have time to get out there and talk with us about the project. He was overbooked and hade to get back to Austria.
During his workshop he gave a great presentation and explanation of how he is building these lakes in the desertified parts of Spain and Portugal. With what he taught I am certain that we can do some exciting pond systems throughout the low contour area on top of the plateau.
We'll talk about that soon,
